COMMUNITY ACCOUNTANCY SERVICE
CAS was set up as a non-profit making organisation with a membership drawn exclusively from its users and a management committee drawn primarily from the members as is customary. CAS has now achieved charitable status and its registered charity number is 1077950. In order to achieve our objective in providing a financial management service to the voluntary sector we have had to change and adapt to changing requirements and legislation. CAS has employed qualified accountants since 1993. We endeavour to invest in the continuing development and education of all staff in order to give a highly professional service which must be one of the best and in the country. This has allowed us to take on regulated work which is now in greater demand as our clients organisational structures become more complicated. At present we have three staff and complimented in the busy months by people on placement or short term working arrangements. We are hoping to expand our staff base over the next few years to cope with the ever increasing demand for the Service. Our clients cover a wide range of voluntary and charitable services. We work with advice centres, neighbourhood groups, mental and physical health support organisations, women's groups and after school clubs to name but a few. We work with many ethnic groups and with people with varying degrees of financial skills.
